Amazon Tightens ASN Accuracy Rules for Vendors

Amazon is continuing to raise standards across its inbound supply chain in 2026, with a stronger focus on Advance Shipment Notice (ASN) accuracy. From early Q1, vendors are expected to consistently achieve a 95% benchmark for ASN timeliness and accuracy, with Amazon increasingly using ASN data as the primary reference for whether deliveries arrive as planned.

Under this approach, ASN accuracy now plays a central role in how inbound performance is assessed. Late submissions or mismatches between ASN data and what physically arrives at fulfilment centres, including carton and pallet configuration, can lead to financial deductions linked to the purchase order value.

For brands, this reinforces that ASN data is no longer a purely operational task. Inbound accuracy now directly influences cost control, performance metrics, and how quickly inventory becomes available for sale. Manual processes, estimated submissions, or fragmented ownership across teams introduce greater risk as enforcement tightens.

Overall, Amazon is signalling a continued move toward automation and standardisation. Brands with clear ownership, aligned systems, and strong pre-dispatch controls will be better positioned as these standards become more firmly embedded throughout 2026.
