Search, as part of the wider media mix, continues to hold a large share of advertiser budget in the UK. Google has been the dominant force in search for what seems like forever but Amazon has been talked about as the young pretender for a little while, particularly for product search.

We decided to take on the analysis ourselves, across seven of the largest retail categories, in order to provide a quantitative, up to date picture of the retail search landscape in the UK.
