Manager, E-Commerce and Marketplace Consultancy

Role Description

Tambo is a fast growing and ambitious business with unique technology and services in a growing market. After a fantastic last 12 months, where we more than doubled our client base & people, built our own technology and launched new services we want to do it all again and double the size of our business.

This role will combine two of the core pillars that will fuel our next period of expansion and further professionalisation of our business. The role reports directly into the Head of Consultancy, sitting across both our Consultancy & Analytics product.

Tambo engages with businesses across a variety of e-commerce strategic and consultancy projects from multi market Amazon performance reviews to Delivered Convenience strategies. You will lead these projects and further define the consultancy product from brief to delivery. Additionally, you will help to embed our analytics into the insights & strategic work that we do across these briefs and our clients.

Key Responsibilities

Core Pillars: Consultancy

  • Deliver Tambo Consultancy projects supported by Tambo subject experts.

  • Conduct category, brand & consumer reviews utilising our own proprietary data & technology in addition to gathering data using third party tools

  • Consult on the strategic phases of new Managed Service clients

  • Become a specialist on Amazon across both Seller & Vendor models

  • Become a specialist on challenger marketplaces such as Ebay, Zalando, Walmart

  • Collaborate on New Business pitches, supporting strategic analysis & narrative.

  • Help drive Tambo technology adoption through our Marketplace Maturity framework

  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Consultancy to develop our Consultancy product into a market leader.

  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Consultancy to develop our strategic & analytical products (e.g. Brand audits, Marketplace Maturity Matrix).

  • Collaborate with our Technology & Consultancy team to develop our broader marketplace consultancy proposition.


Skills and experience required


  • 3+ years minimum experience in an ecommerce or consultancy department.

  • Deep expertise in ecommerce

  • Strong understanding of Amazon - vendor & seller on an international level

  • A good understanding of DTC strategy and solutions

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Able to work with all levels within an organisation

  • Track record of leading strategic/ consultancy projects

  • A deep understanding of the digital landscape and ecosystem

  • Capable of working independently to deliver objectives

  • Has a demonstrated ability to lead & develop senior client relationships

  • Strong track record of delivering and impacting growth

  • A team player, that can lead, organise and motivate a diverse group
